Charles Firth

Film Director

Charles Firth is a writer, director, and also a co-founder of the comedy team, The Chaser. He was The Chaser's US correspondent for a number of years, during which time he also wrote the bestselling non-fiction book American Hoax. Nowadays he runs a small satirical media conglomerate, which produced The Roast, a daily satirical news bulletin, which combines the integrity of Today Tonight, with the balanced reporting of The Bolt Report. Aside from his television work, Firth co-wrote (with Andrew Hansen) the short film Garbage Man, which won a Tropfest Award and also an award at the Ohne Kohle Film Festival in Vienna. Charles also does silly work for otherwise respectable corporate clients creating videos that people like to send to each other. He has worked on projects for Google, Fairfax, Greenpeace and the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, plus a number of other faceless men. He has won a few Logies, at least one AFI, and been nominated for quite a few more.
